My ride home
Omg my cab driver is abit/quite/really/so entertaining. I just got home by the way (Time check: 12:03am Wednesday) and the cabby is so annoying, testing my patience, funny. He asked me where I wanna go.
Me: "Block _ _ _ but I don't know what street larh uncle. I forgot." -Frankly I wasn't thinking, too tired to think anyway. So many things on my mind, very little space to contain. Heh.
Cabby: " So is it Ang Mo Kio or Yio Chu Kang?"
Me: " I wanna go Yio Chu Kang, near AJ there."
Cabby: "So Ang Mo Kio or Yio Chu Kang? AJ is what?"
Me: "AJ is Anderson Junior College larh. Yio Chu Kang uncle"
Cabby: " So it's near Ang Mo Kio larh."
Me: "No. Yio Chu Kang. Near the MRT. Near Nayang Poly there."
Cabby: "So near Ang Mo Kio larh."
Oh my gawd! Kill me. No better still, kill him.
So I just went silent and stared out of the window. There was his random talks about how I wasn't the first to know the block but not the street and yada yada yada. So smart me, changed the subject 'cos he was boring me (The "Killing me softly" song rang in my head) and I was tired of pretending to giggle at his "jokes".
Me:" So uncle how long have you been a taxi driver?"
Cabby:"15 years."
Me: "Woah. So long?"
Cabby: "15 years part time but 2 years full time larh now after retiring. Staying at home. Boring larh."
Me:"Haha. Yeah."
Cabby: "Guess what I did before I became full time?"
Me: "What?"
Cabby:" Working MRT."
Me:" Huh? MRT?"
Cabby:" M for makan. R for rehat. T for tido! Eat, rest, sleep!"
Funny or what? I guess you figured his race by now.
Cos you're the one that led me here, so take me.
